Our Services

Our Lesson Academy offers weekly lessons with a minimum commitment of one lesson per week. Lessons are scheduled for the same day and time each week. We have over 10 schoolmaster horses in our academy, accommodating a wide range of levels from absolute beginners to those jumping over 2' fences. Riders are expected to have their horses groomed and tacked before the appointed lesson time and to ensure that horses and tack are safely put away after lessons. Training is provided for beginners as part of our Beginner Group lesson package.

This package includes weekly lessons for a total of 6 weeks and is intended for riders with little to no experience in the saddle. Lessons cover safety protocols, grooming and tacking a horse, horse care at Blackstone Equestrian, a riding lesson, and post-lesson care for your horse and equipment. By the end of this program, riders should know how to groom and tack their horses for lessons, put the horse away safely, and feel comfortable trotting.

Lessons are tuition-based each month, with tuition due on the first of the month. We offer lessons once, twice, or three times a week. Our strict cancellation policy allows for only one makeup lesson each month per weekly lesson, provided that a makeup request form is completed prior to the day of the missed lesson.

For riders looking to advance beyond 2'3" fences, a minimum half lease is required. Riders interested in competing, we primarily show local north Texas shows and occasionally attend USHJA "A" Shows. We can assist you in purchasing a horse and offer reasonable leasing and half-leasing options. Additionally, we've helped high school seniors prepare for and secure spots on collegiate teams.

Boarding fees are due in advance on the 1st of each month. Pricing includes weekly lessons, the use of one fan, blanketing, turnout, and scheduling for farrier and vet services (note that farrier charges are not included). Veterinarian visits, acupuncture, chiropractic services, and show fees are billed separately and/or directly.

Our horses are fed three times daily with alfalfa and the industry's highest quality grain, Hallway Feeds. Each horse has a custom feeding program tailored to maintain an optimal body condition score.

Kristen and her family live on-site, providing essentially 24/7 care when needed. Kristen believes that not having set "barn hours" allows for more eyes on the horses, enhancing their safety.

For horses that require additional training support, we offer a variety of programs ranging from basic training (one professional ride per week) to full training (four rides per week). Our training programs are designed to supplement the rider's abilities and ensure that the horse continues to progress in a safe and fundamental manner.

Our Owner, Kristen Ainsworth, is fully trained in all aspects of equine trauma and first response, having received her training directly from the veterinarians she closely collaborates with. With an exceptionally keen eye for even the slightest signs of lameness, Kristen is able to provide immediate care for horses that might otherwise appear sound, facilitating faster recovery and greater comfort for the horse.

With a dedicated team that includes a fantastic farrier who visits weekly, a world-renowned podiatrist, a routinely scheduled DVM chiropractor and acupuncturist, a highly trained saddle fitting expert, and an equine nutritionist, your horse will receive comprehensive care for its overall well-being.
